historyThe "Pepita/Crystal" system was designed by the Italian company Mattioli Engineering in 1994 , was FDA cleared in 1996 after years of trials,wordl first closed-loop microdermabrasion system with corundum crystal with sterile operations, and was introduced in U.S. in 1997 by the initial Mattioli Engineering U.S. distributor under his own trade mark "PowerPeel" .The success of this name was obtained thanks to the reliability and easyness of operation of the equipments manufactured by Mattioli Engineering. The hundreds of DMS1000 Pepita/Crystal units installed in USA created a "New Science In Skin Care (TM)" with thousands of patients/customers that discovered a new and easy way for obtaining a healthier skin. Now, based on innovative design and invaluable experience gained over ten years, the new "Ultrapeel(TM)" - "Pepita/Crystal" systems offer even a more complete range of equipments, accesories, consumables,disposable kits, that make possible a therapy that work for everyone and every skin type, achieving a healthier skin after each and every treatment whith the maximum reliability and safety thanks to the unique sterile operations. Mattioli Engineering "Ultrapeel(TM)" microdermabraders received the FDA clearance in 1996 under the initial name "DMS1000C",are covered by U.S. patents (some already issued: n. 5,810,842, n. 5,954,730 ;some still pending), are CE marked and are used worldwide both for medical and cosmetic applications. Ultrapeel
Pepita system Pepita is the Ultrapeel unit modified for use by the Aesthetician who is certified and higly skilled to carry out a wide range of treatments safely and efficiently on a routine basis in the skin care clinics. A jet of microcrystals (corundum powder) is propelled across the skin's surface throug a sealed tubing system with a sterilizable handpiece which removes unwanted dead skin cells and scarred tissue.A continuous vacuum of microcrystal is formed (aspiration mode) The microcrystal are finally collected in a container that holds the waste materials. The real benefit is that after treatment, the patient/client is able to leave the clinic with a clean and fresh sparkling tone, due to regeneration of the epiderma cell structure. Safety is paramount, and therefore, all parts which come into conctact with the skin during therapy, are either disposable or sterilizable. The Ultrapeel Crystal Unit is
the medical version of the Ultrapeel tecnology. It is an
innovative dermoabrader which is achieving major successes in
dermatology, plastic and cosmetic surgery. This is a closed form
of dermoabrasion that uses aspiration and compression modes to
perform skin resurfacing with no risk of contamination. The
procedure utilizes handpieces, that are sterilizable or
disposable, which are placed on the skin surface.
